Gratitude this Holiday and Always

"Today, be grateful. Be grateful for your favorite music, for movies that make you feel good, for the phone that connects with people, for your computer, and for the electricity that lights up your life. Be grateful for the roads and traffic lights that keep the traffic in order. Be grateful for those that built our bridges. Be grateful for our loved ones, for our children, pets, for our eyes that enable us to read this. Be grateful for your imagination. Be grateful that you can speak. Be grateful that you can laugh and smile. Be grateful that you can breathe. Be grateful that you are alive! Be grateful that you are YOU.

Be grateful that there are two words that can change your life, and say them over and over again:

Thank You!

--From The Secret

I am very grateful for the blessings that my family received this holiday season. I am also thankful for Suzanna's Mom inviting Dad to Christmas dinner at the Tyrrell house.

With Love,
E

Wondering

Jess is off to Italy. Christmas is practically a day away and 2010 is upon us. Dad's House is coming along, just need to keep Dad focused on finishing projects.

He's doing what he needs to but you can understand that we are changing Dad's life as he knows it, and it is going to take alot strength and the help of family.

The perfect life is created through Intention.

SNOW DAY!!!

this is totally amazing....the amount of snow on the ground already and the fact that it has yet to stop and it''s 2:44 p.m. in the afternoon.
the mall is closed, church is closed tomorrow.... I have a ton of baking to finish and a little low on salt, sugar and brown sugar. couldn't get into my car if I wanted to anyway...not kidding about that. only a small strip of my car is visible from the driveway at the moment. :)

Unless we have a freak warm up, Christmas should be a white one.

miss all you guys! miss sledding with you too when you were little!

love, me

Howdy. Huggles.

Hey guys!

Got my x-mas shopping completely done and wrapped. Jordan's presents are hanging out under the tree, begging to be ripped open...by me mostly. I want him to open them now! I'm so excited that I may have hit the bullseye on his gifts.

Wish I was at home though so I could do the same for all of you. Your gifts will be on their way shortly though. Work has killed me all this week and looks like it'll be taking up my weekend as well, but I will get those out to you!

Especially the kids' presents. I'm hoping I can get those to Andi by Xmas eve.

So, I'm making Lemon Chicken tonight and think I may have screwed it up. Can anybody post the recipe on here so I can finally have a solid copy?

Thank you BBC, for giving terrorism a voice. I wonder if backward ignorant conservatives should have their mouths sewn shut?

Miracles Do Indeed Happen, with Help from Angels

Too very exciting things just happened.

1) I turned the page in my 365 day "The Secret" calendar to find the following message:

  • "If you have a problem with a member of your family who is negative, begin by writing a list of all the things you appreciate about that person. Remember to include gratitude to them for giving you a great desire for positivity in your life; because that is a gift they are giving you! As you focus with all of your strength on appreciation, you will not only reduce your exposure to the negativity, but at the same time you will be attracting positive people into your life. Get yourself on to the appreciation frequency, and the law of attraction can surround you only with people who are in a positive state."  [Wow! What just happened?]
 2) I finished baking a new batch of Christmas cookies. The first batch came out bad because Jess forgot a whole cup of sugar. :-P I can't seem to figure out if I should do Anise or Vanilla frosting, so I tried mixing the two, it smells like root beer :) Oh, and I just found this picture:

3) This is the kicker, I just logged in to check my grade submissions, and behold! I recieved an 'A' in Business Statistics! Hooray!

Love You Guys

Good News!

D.C. has legalized homosexual unions! HOORAY!

Sorry for the Negativity

Sorry for the negative news you guys. I don't mean to bring negative subjects into the light so much. I just really enjoy sharing with you about my hidden lives and allowing you to bring light into very painful thoughts.

And shoving Islam in your face. That's always fun.

Anyway, I'll be finished ba...finishing your x-mas gifts this week and I'll get them sent out this weekend. Unfortunalitaet, I won't get them to you by x-mas. But I'm assured by my other half that you will love them anyway.

So. Love. And stuff.

Sadists make me angry

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/12/08/cheney-trying-suspects-nyc-huge-mistake/Moster/

Mr. Bloated...I mean, Cheney.

1. How much room do you think the court will actually give the "terrorist mastermind" to defend himself? Saying that he has a leg to stand on is giving him a leg to stand on. He has none. He is a brainwashed, maybe, psychopath who will burn in hell for the crimes he's help commit and the lives he has wasted. He has no defense. And by the U.S. giving him a trial, we are showing how compassionate a nation we are. If we were any other third-world backward nation, we'd have just shot him in the head by now without giving him his civil right to a last word. That's not what we are.

2. Do you consider every trial for every murderer, rapist, thief, etc., to be a platform for those degenerates to spew their messages? What makes this trial any different from that of, say, the Manson family?

3. Our wars create terrorists. Our beliefs create terrorists. Our ways of life create terrorists. Our language creates terrorists. Our hamburgers create terrorists. C'est la f'ing vie.

4. Our leader bowing to a leader of another nation where it is customary is an awesome diplomatic move. Our apologizing may seem to a megalomaniac like you to be subserving our imperialism, but it's also trying to show our compassion and our belief in working with people; not just yelling at them, condemning them and killing them.

5. Thank you for labeling "most" of America as arrogant. What the hell is your definition of exceptionalism? Being a bully? Being a jock? Being a bloodlusting warrior? Or being a leader?

6. Our withdrawal announcement is not telling the terrorists that they are winning. It's saying that we as a nation of sick of fighting an winless war for some other nation. It's telling the Afghanis to get off there asses and start helping themseleves, because losing our men and women is just not worth protecting them anymore. It's also showing that we've strayed from our original goals and we need to recoup and try again. Protecting the Afghanis was not our mission. Finding Bin Laden and striking out against Al-Qaeda was our goal. Chasing the Taliban (which in Arabic means students), who are more or less brainwashed and corrupted children, is not our mission. We are wasting time and lives in Afghanistan and we need to get out of this situation.

7. On that note: We are not Russia. We are not going to send in every last man we have. We are much smarter than that.

8. "If you kill enough Americans, you change foreign policy." No...shit. That is actually how it works. You kill enough of us, we're going to find a way to keep you from killing us.

9. Why did the writer of this article repeat the above quote twice? Propaganda?

10. Who's weak and indecisive? I certainly hope you're talking about yourself and your admin. Tell me, Mr. Cheney, please, spell it out: What is the point of Afghanistan? And if the solution is so simple, why the fuck didn't you deal with it while you were still in office? Why do you keep screaming and bitching about a war you could have fixed.

...the more I hear this sadistic, megalomaniac complain about our situations in Afghanistan, the more I wish he and Bush would be tried for war crimes. I am convinced that we are as far behind in this war because of them. I am convinced, and have been, that Iraq was a useless war and was a major deterrent in the War on Terror. I am so sick of hearing war-mongerers bitch about pacifists trying to find a way out of war.

I could go on, but my heartrate just began to race and I am sweating.

I really should get a commission, a political science degree, and actually start shouting back at people like Cheney.

And I'm losing my train of thought. He is a sadist. A bloodthistry, gunfiring sadist. Roar.

In a mixing bowl, cream the sugar and butter, beat until light and fluffy. Add the eggs 1 at a time and mix well after each addition. Mix cocoa and food coloring together and then add to sugar mixture; mix well. Sift together flour and salt. Add flour mixture to the creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk. Blend in vanilla.
In a small bowl, combine baking soda and vinegar and add to mixture. Pour batter into the prepared sheet pan. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Remove from heat and cool completely. When the cake is cooled, cut into 1-inch cubes.

Bread Pudding Mix:

Combine the half-and-half, eggs, egg yolk, salt, and vanilla in a medium bowl. With an electric hand mixer in a large bowl, beat the cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Mix in the half-and-half mixture.
Place the red velvet cubes in a large baking dish or 8 individual ramekins. Add the pudding mixture to the dish. Make sure the cake cubes are completely covered. Bake for about 30 minutes, or until the pudding is set. Serve with ice cream.

House Update

Heat is on! Walls will be primed on Sat... Floors may take a week.

But with the warm house and the windows sealed up, Dad should be preparing to move in by the New Year or mid-January.

That is if we can get him packed up and moved out, something that would probably entail someone kidnapping him for the day while I have we have our crew move him in!

It may very well have to happen that way.
