I like that one woman's quote of how does this affect other people? I have to ask the same question. I know I've gone on vicious, emotional tyrades about religion, but now I'll take the softer and more logical route:
What does two peoples' marriage have to do with anyone but them and their families?

this is going to be a long fight - and again, the side that is looking for equal rights needs to focus on that aspect MORE than trying to convince people that being gay is "ok".
there is a sensitive side to most people - and if approached with - this is my best friend and partner, i want to protect her as best i can by providing healthcare benefits and being able to make life decisions with her that i can't do now. how powerful of a message would an ad be that showed someone sobbing about how they couldn't be in the room when their loved one passed away because they weren't "married" and weren't "family". that would convince me, and has convinced me that its unfair and should be discussed.
now, coming at me saying that my church born beliefs in marriage are outdated is insulting. I have my faith and my beliefs.
spending time out of my children's school day focusing on homosexuality, trying to convince children that its normal and ok, instead of focusing on interpersonal relationships (with all people) and safe sex/abstinence as an entire lesson is wrong.
ANYWAY... it's a long road ahead and it will happen. just have to change tactics. :)
