Christmas

So the holidays are just around the corner, and I know I'm going to regret saying this because I know that he and I are just a like, but I need christmas lists from everyone.
1. because dad wants it,
2. because I have to get everyones stuff sooner and mail it out (even tho you guys can't open anything until xmas..haha)
3. because I haven't really been around all ya'all so I have no idea what you guys want.

Andi, I need the babies wish list too
Nate, I need an idea for blair, although I kind of have one, I just need some recommendations
Eric, same to you for Suzanna, (suzanna-any ideas for eric is appreciated)
Bryan, I really don't know what you are up to so just tell me what you really really want instead of "you don't have to get me anything" excuse.
Mom, What would you like?

Any ideas for A. Carol, U. Dale, and Andrew? I figured books and gift cards, but I'm not too sure. Anything to help is appreciated.

I think you all know that I stink at presents, and if you don't, well I really do stink at gift giving. I usually get the stupidest thing or soemthing that is not practical at all....

I already know what I'm getting dad, but like I said, the sooner I have everyones list, the sooner I can get to the stores and whatnots..

loves! xoxo

You don't have to get me anything...

Except maybe Adobe Photoshop for mac? Seriously, though, don't, because it costs $500 and I'm trying to get Jordan to buy it for me.

Um...send me a nice John William Waterhouse-style painting.

Or 10lbs of gummibears.

for me I want the following:

new bed, queen size, pillow top, preferably the tranquility mattress set at banner...so comfortable its like you are sleeping on a cloud...

or, a new range and oven for the new house...

or, just a vent system for said oven and stove top...

or, washing machine for new house, preferably front loading...

as for Blair, hmmm...not sure. What were you planning? I've got some ideas but will likely need some help..I'm horrible at gifts most times as well...

bed is most crucial, followed by washing machine...

:-)

Aw heck, if Nate's asking for an Oven then I want a TV! lol. 24" would be fine, preferably flat screen.

But really, nothing. I don't want nothin'.

ok well I don't have that kind of money. I was thinking more like, what you want (cheap) that you never actually buy because you don't want to waste your money kind of thing. like dad really wants an automatic litter box thing, the self cleaning and he's been wanting one for a long time but I never got one bc charlie and victor are outside that it wouldnt earn its moneys worth. but since the new kitty uses it and it needs changed daily, it would be worth it. get it?

I guess I'll just have to go out on a limb like I always do...which im not too happy about bc i did that for erics bday and he hated my present...kinda hurt...just dont wanna get excited for ya'll to open something you're not going to like.

Seriously, J-cat, a giant bag of gummibears would keep me happy for a week or two. I would really appreciate it.

Nate said...

I ask for the big stuff only because I can take of the little stuff...

I don't know what I would want, that would be cheap, that I wouldnt' buy myself....put it this way, if its cheap and I haven't bought it, probably means I don't need it...

The items I wrote down are needs really, and which I am trying to put money together for once I move...the washer is a big one I need, followed by the bed...might have to wait for my tax refund to purchase several items...

Just think of me, what I like, what I enjoy, and maybe something might pop out at you as a good gift...

The celebration isn't about buying the perfect gift, nor buying what everyone asks for...the gift giving portion is just that, giving...

I've kept pretty much 90 to 95% of every gift I have ever received from you guys, regardless of whether it was what I wanted or even if it was even useful...

:-) no worries jessie :-)

I love the movies you got me. I was just in the wrong mood when you presented them to me. Sorry.

1) Donate $10 to the Charity of your choice, in my name.

2) A good book.

Love You.

I dont want Dad to spend alot of money this Christmas.

Dad getting into a house of his own will be a Christmas gift for everyone

Let us try not think about spending alot of money this christmas so we can convince dad to tighten his belt as well.

Thanks,
Eric

YEY! Construction-paper xmas trees for everyone!

For two little kids in my house, they will launch an all out riot if there are no presents under the tree! :)

Anthony - anything art related- paper, pencils, watercolors, etc. Legos (ugh!), anything that he can use to build or construct something, books are a good pick, too.
Carleigh - also into art supplies, things that will help her with writing skills and pre-reading books. princess stuff, strawberry shortcake. Barbies and barbie clothes.

i'm with bry and Eric - gummibears, a book... :)
donation to charity is also a good idea-- calling cards for soldiers - any thing to send to troops overseas.

well ya'll are no fun....lol :) I'll try not to spend too much :P

I am planning on buying myself a birthday/xmas gift that I see as necessary, but I don't want to not get you guys anything bc if i can afford this gift for myself, then I'm capable to afford a gift for all ya'll.

It just has to have meaning behind it so I'm definitely not going out and making construction paper xmas trees.............................................

I guess I'll just work on it and hopefully I get something for everyone. And I'm not talking a huge gift, just something small for everyone.

Maybe we should start a tradition of everyone pulling a name out of a hat and only getting a gift for that person...our family has gotten bigger and is only going to get bigger so it'll help with the saving money if one is buying a gift for one other person (secret santa!!) instead of 8 or 12 ppl! :)

just an idea but its more economical i think..

the hat idea is awesome... and really, i'd love to be able to do a "white elephant" gift for under $15 - pick names for that too.

woudl be a fun tradition to get going. HEE HEE!

white elephant?

secret santa I get, but....

Bry said...

You'll by me an field squadbay? I don't think that'll cost $15, and I have NOWHERE to put it.

Nate said...

i don't like the hat idea...you don't have to get a gift for everyone...and everyone doesn't have to receive a gift...

Think we are way off base on the gift giving...

and Andi, white elephant?

Bry said...

white elephant, btw, are what Marines call huge brick buildings or tents in a bivouac that serve as a sleeping/living area.

The more you know. *shimmer*

Nate said...

and knowing is half the battle...

Bry said...

The other half is building a bivouac complete with white elephants in your new yard. Unless Andi is getting them for you.

Jessie said...

white elephant is like secret santa, but you just buy a gift under $20, wrap it and put it under the tree without a name and everyone takes turns just grabbing a present and you get what you gets. its kinda funny bc sometimes girls buy cosmetics for incase another girl gets it and then a boy does and its funny to see their expression!! gtg go schoooooooool byess!!

Unknown said...

ok, the way we do white elephants is that you find the most ridiculous gift, like a "as seen on tv" product.
it's like a joke to go with a serious gift.

:) shouldn't be about gifts with us, but time to spend together really. how often are we able to do that? have dinners, cookouts, stay up all night doing nothing... like the old days? those make for great memories and that lasts longer than any gift.
