so, i posted on facebook that Carleigh is now an official soccer player. She starts practice in two weeks... and in announcing this, i stated - Show the boys how the game is really played.
nate says i'm trash talking - i say i'm motivating.

"show everybody how the game is really played"
better.
success spawns from creativity, not competition.
Love,

Go get em!
ok, show EVERYBODY how the game is played. fine. boys can be mean to girls anytime. calling them sissies and such. but the moment a girl shows some toughness, the boys get uncomfortable. :)
I have nothing against girl toughness. you carried babies in your tummy for nine months.
sheesh.
stop being a sissy about it :)
Show the boys how the game is really played.
Is the liberal really the only one not decrying that phrase?
its trash talking because you are trying to say that you and your daughter know how the game is played, and are saying that the boys havent a clue....classic trash talk phrase...
:-p
US Womens soccer team has won world cups before. US mens team = nil
well played Eric, well played...
I think I was more picking on andi, and less about picking on women. I've watched womens soccer most times it has been televised...also supported the womens' soccer team and field hockey teams in high school by going to most of their games.
There are just as many great women athletes as there are great men athletes, but even given how things are, womens sports are not on par with mens sports. Mostly because of development of athletes...soon enough that will even out, and many women will be at just as high a quality and skill level so that they can compete with mens teams...
Example: Anika Sorenstam (spelling), the woman golfer who crushed her competition, tried playing in a mens open tournament, and didn't do too badly, but because she had played at the womens level, she wasn't fully prepared to compete at the mens level...had she tried the mens level of playing (longer played holes, further back to begin each hole) at a younger age, maybe she would've done better.
Not holding back, and not treating athletic women different from men is what needs to continue with the youngest of generations, and with this more and more the field will be evened...but as of right now, the best of the best in womens sports can not consistently equal out to the play of the best of the best male athletes...
one item that might also impact this is basic anatomy. The make up of the female body as it relates specifically to hips impacts the play of most women in sports. Not saying women are weaker, just that certain characteristics of the female body limit them in some competition (on average that is...some female weight lifters, as you can clearly see have very specific body types which enable them to build body mass and strength above the average woman)...
I love that Carliegh is playing soccer, but I'm kinda disappointed its not baseball...
ooooey. bseball's gross.
